Urs Nuessli is a Swiss bassist and bass teacher with over 30 years of experience. He began his musical career at the Jazz School Lucerne, where he learned the fundamentals of bass playing and music theory. He continued his studies at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he studied with renowned teachers such as Bruce Gertz, Hal Crook, and Jerry Bergonzi. During his time at Berklee, he also had the opportunity to play and learn from musicians from all over the world.
After returning to Switzerland, Urs Nuessli taught at the Academy of Contemporary Music and the Kalaidos University for many years. He then founded his own music school for electric bass.
He is also an author, having written several books on jazz harmony, rhythm studies, and ear training. His latest book, How to Play Bass, was recently published and serves as the basis for this Course.
Urs Nuessli has performed in a variety of genres, including jazz, funk, fusion, theater, musical, and gospel. He has also played on a variety of recordings, from fusion, funk, musical, and gospel to rock and metal. He has performed with drummers Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree) and Ian Paice (Deep Purple), as well as with great local bands.
